Precinct 2 is at 14800 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78232, at (210) 335-2625. Precinct 3 is located at 1901 S. Zarzamora St, San Antonio, TX 78207, at (210) 335-2635. The San Antonio Municipal Court, located at 401 S. Frio St, San Antonio, TX 78207 and reachable at 210-207-2700, handles the vast majority of traffic citations in the county. San Antonio is the seventh-largest city in the United States, and the volume of traffic cases processed through that court reflects the city's size. If your citation was written by SAPD, it almost certainly goes to San Antonio Municipal Court.

DPS troopers on I-10, I-35, Loop 410, and other highways write citations that may go to JP courts rather than city court depending on the location. Check the court listed on your citation to be sure.

This portal also allows online payment and lets you apply for deferred disposition or the driving safety course.

Bexar County Texas Traffic Ticket Records online citation handling portal

Bexar County's online citation handling portal at bexar.org/3289/Handling-Citations-Online allows residents to pay fines, request deferred disposition, apply for DSC, and upload documents without appearing in person for many JP court cases.

What Traffic Records Include

A Bexar County traffic citation record contains the citation number, date, time, and location of the stop, plus the officer's name and badge number. Your name, date of birth, and driver license number are recorded. Vehicle information, including plate, make, model, and VIN, is part of the record as well.

The violation section lists the Texas statute and describes the offense in plain terms. Courts add hearing dates, payment entries, DSC application status, deferred conditions, and final outcomes. In Bexar County, where cases are high-volume, the online portal makes it easier than most counties to track your case status without calling or visiting a courthouse.

Paying and Resolving Citations Online

Bexar County JP courts allow online payment, deferral requests, DSC applications, and document uploads through the county's online system at bexar.org/3289/Handling-Citations-Online. This is a major convenience for residents and visitors who don't want to appear in person.

Paying the fine is a guilty plea under Art. 27.14(c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The conviction goes to DPS. To avoid that, ask about deferred disposition under Art. 45.051, where the case is held for 90 to 180 days and dismissed if conditions are met.

The Driving Safety Course (DSC) in Bexar County follows state eligibility rules under Art. 45.0511 with some additional county-specific conditions. You must have no CDL, no deferred disposition in the past 12 months, no DSC used in Texas in the past 12 months, and the violation can't be speeding more than 25 mph over the limit. You also can't be cited in a construction zone for some DSC applications. You must submit a Type 3A certified driving record (also called a 3A record) from DPS, which costs $12 online or $10 by mail. The court provides a Driving Record Form that you mail to DPS in Austin with the $10 fee to obtain this record.

DPS Driving Records for Bexar County Cases

Texas DPS keeps your driving history at dps.texas.gov. The Type 3A certified complete record is the one Bexar County courts require for DSC eligibility. It costs $12 online or $10 if you mail form DR-1 to Texas DPS, P.O. Box 149008, Austin, TX 78714-9008. Mail processing takes up to three weeks. Order early so you have it ready before your court date.

The Type 3A verifies that you have not previously had a ticket dismissed through the driving safety course option. Courts check this before approving DSC. If you've used that option in Texas within 12 months, you won't qualify regardless of the other eligibility factors.

OMNI Holds and Non-Payment Consequences

Unpaid Bexar County traffic fines are reported to DPS under Transportation Code Chapter 706. DPS places a hold on license renewal through the OMNI program. Check and pay OMNI holds at texasfailuretoappear.com. Each ticket carries a $10 OMNI fee on top of the court fine. Warrants can be issued for failure to appear at San Antonio Municipal Court or Bexar County JP courts.

Note: Texas dropped the driver point system in 2019. DPS monitors patterns instead. Four or more moving violations in 12 months or seven or more in 24 months may trigger a suspension review.
